The Q-value of the 11C superallowed decay was measured with the LEBIT Penning trap at the NSCL. This new Q-value is 16 times more precise than the literature and makes the uncertainty on the Ft-value no longer dependent on the Q-value. This measurement provides a strong incentive to measure the missing mixing ratio, which will allow the charged vector current (CVC) hypothesis and the unitarity of the CKM matrix to be tested in mixed mirror transitions.
