Wiescher publishes German edition of Arthur Haas’ biography

Michael Wiescher, Freimann Professor of Physics, has published the German edition his book on the biography of Arthur Haas titled "Arthur E. Haas - Ein verborgener Pioneer der Modernen Physik" and printed by the LIT Verlag in Vienna. The book describes the fate and science of an Austrian Jewish physicist during the first half of the 20th century. The English language version, published by Springer in early 2022, has received several excellent reviews. With the publication of the German language version, Professor Wiescher has been invited to give a talk at the Leopoldina, the German National Academy in Halle, as well as the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science about Haas, his life and his scientific accomplishments. A special symposium about Haas is planned for summer 2022 in Vienna, Austria.
