Neutron-induced reactions play a critical role in many applications: from nuclear astrophysics, driving the production of heavy elements, to energy and stockpile stewardship applications. Precise measurements of the relevant cross sections require well-defined neutron energies – this can be achieved at NIS by using 7Li(p,n)7Be reaction to produce monoenergetic neutron flux with intensity of the order of 108-109 neutrons/sec/cm2.
