The Nuclear Science Laboratory (NSL) hosted the First IReNA-IANNA Workshop on New Reaction Rates for Nuclear Astrophysics from June 9 – 11, 2024 with support from the International Research Network for Nuclear Astrophysics (IReNA). Representatives from the nuclear laboratories of many participating countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Portugal and Spain in the Ibero American Network of Nuclear Astrophysics (IANNA) network gathered at the University of Notre Dame to present research and discuss collaborations with representatives from US based laboratories such as the NSL at the University of Notre Dame, Argonne National Laboratory, the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) at Michigan State University and Florida State University. Thanks to IReNA support, many graduate students from IANNA were able to attend and present their research. It was also the first opportunity for several of the graduate student to give international talks.

The workshop resulted in discovering new collaborative connections between the laboratories, discussing potential funding opportunities for IANNA members as well as making plans for this workshop to continue as a biennial series.
