First Notre Dame-Europe Symposium on Nuclear Science and Society
A symposium on "Nuclear Science and Society" is being organized by the nuclear physics group of the University of Notre Dame. This is the first of a series of Notre Dame-Europe Symposia to be held annually in Europe (UK, Italy) or at the University of Notre Dame in the USA with the aim to discuss the current trends in applied nuclear science. We envision that each of these symposia will highlight selected applications of nuclear science benefitting society in general. The primary focus of this London symposium will be on medical physics and energy applications. We aim to bring together practitioners of the techniques of nuclear physics in medical physics and energy applications for discussions/cross fertilization of ideas.
