Science Alive is a science focused event to inspire children of all ages to develop an interest in the fields of science and technology by showcasing areas such as education, medicine, business, and industry. And once again the Nuclear Science Laboratory brought the PCB accelerator to give the local children (even the fully grown ones) and introduction to nuclear structure and how particle accelerators can help use study nuclei. Hundreds of people approached the table to hear about the research happening just around the corner from them.

Science Alive is a science focused event to inspire children of all ages to develop an interest in the fields of science and technology by showcasing areas such as education, medicine, business, and industry. Children of all ages (especially the fully grown ones) come and get excited about the scientific research happening in their own town. Its a fun way of introducing topics and concepts to people who might not otherwise ever experience them. One table at this event supported by a combination of students, postdocs, and faculty that all do research at the Nuclear Science Laboratory. One was using our famous PCB accelerator to demonstrate the structure of nuclei in a way that could reach the young attendees. It was so popular we were always surrounded by eager young minds.

Science Alive is a science focused event to inspire children of all ages to develop an interest in the fields of science and technology by showcasing areas such as education, medicine, business, and industry. At the event kids and their families have the opportunity to attend shows, demonstrations, as well as fun science related activities. The Nuclear Science Laboratory hosted two tables at this event. One was using our famous PCB accelerator to demonstrate the structure of nuclei in a way that could reach the young attendees. Additionally we were able to demonstrate superconductivity using the popular levitating track.
