The NSL operates a Pelletron tandem accelerator of the HV FN type that is primarily being used for the nuclear structure and astrophysics program, as a driver for the TwinSOL radioactive beam facility, and as Accelerator Mass Spectrometer (AMS).  A new 5MV single ended (5U) NEC Pelletron accelerator is fully operational and hosts an experimental program in nuclear astrophysics for both light ion and heavy ion beams has started. A new 3MV Pelletron tandem is presently installed for applied nuclear physics work. This machine will host a program in Proton Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE) measurements for material analysis and will become operational in summer 2017.
